the way they did the lights out hour a week or so ago. The big tie in to global warming would be that forests can store tons of carbon. The lights out idea came from org.s, such as audobon and world wildlife. A few years ago they found out that migrating birds were attracted to skyscrapers lights during migration[some birds fly nightly to avoid predators] but most media tied it to reduced energy usage which is fine. It really seems the message is every action is intertwined when it comes to nature. What do most birds need to survive? Trees provide shelter and food not to mention nests. And most trees rely on birds for propagation. Many people think only squirrels bury acorns but blue and scrub jays cache the acorns miles away expanding the oak range considably farther than squirrels. Unfortunatly many bird populations are in decline if you want to see some nice pics ckeck out the website created by audobon and cornell U called statusofbirds.org Bird watchers count the birds and us tree huggers measure the dabh not much differant really. |
